One of the most ingenious and effective designs for an off-road locking differential, the ARB Air Locker gives you the best of both worlds, whether on or off road. Imagine having the handling and safety of an open differential on-road and with the flick of a switch being able to "lock" your differential for true two wheel traction for off-roading. Well you don't have to imagine because the ARB Air Locker does just that! By using a switch on your dash you control an air selonoid control valve that applies air pressure to a slider-gear assembly inside the differential that either locks or unlocks the
axles. No compromise, no strange handling on-road, no "slippage" off-road, truly the "best" of both worlds. There have been rumors of reliability  problems with ARB Air Lockers. We have found that the only problem tends to be with the quality of the installation. If you have the opportunity to attend one of the ARCA (American Rock Crawler
Association) championship events, you will find that no one who is even remotely competitive runs anything but an ARB Air Locker.
